TRADER JOE'S RECIPE: LEMON CHICKEN ORZO SOUP
Hi friends!
Fall is near and I’ve been craving all.the.soups. as per usual! If you follow my Instagram stories you know how much I actually loathe shopping at Trader Joe’s. LOL. Don’t get me wrong - I love just about every food item from there and they’ve got some pretty genius and tasty stuff but holy moly that place is like a zoo.
Admittedly, I’ve only been by myself a handful of times (usually Kyle goes) so I’m totally unfamiliar with the layout of the store, can never find anything, and the whole experience is just down right stressful to me. Like, why on earth are there chocolate snacks and gummy bears in the frozen aisle also next to some shrimp and a sauce from India?! In the same aisle?! One does not typically go to the frozen aisle for candy, right?! Call me crazy but I’ll never understand the set-up. I find myself wandering aimlessly down their 4 aisles like 18 times each just the make sure my eyeballs didn’t miss any of the weird surprises in unsuspecting areas - it’s like a damn treasure hunt in there!
Oh, and don’t even get me started on the kid size carts LOL. I’m all for a good time but when the store is already miniature and buzzing with way too many people through its tiny aisles, adding in a bunch of hyper kiddos with their own tiny carts is just a disaster waiting to happen. I’m just over here trying to read the difference between one tzatziki dip from the next Mediterranean whatever-the-heck-dip while also trying to look like I know what I’m doing next to all of these well informed long time TJ’s fanatics. Last thing I need is a tiny cart to the ankles!
ANYWHO :) Now that we’ve got that out of the way - TJ’s does have some pretty bomb recipe ideas on their website which * could * make your shopping trip a little easier. I stumbled across this one for some Lemon Chicken Orzo Soup and immediately hit print on that bad boy because anything with only 3 ingredients is a no brainer in my book. I cut the recipe in half knowing Kyle isn’t a soup person and added some jalapeno on a whim since I had a bag of them to go through - it was a surprsingly good addition!
